破坏恢复, U of I’s Collegiate Recovery Community, supports and advocates for students in and seeking recovery from substance misuse as they pursue their academic goals. Support, events and resources are provided in collaboration by 健康教育, 咨询 and 精神健康中心 和 Latah恢复中心.

Any student who identifies as being in or seeking recovery from substance misuse may join this community.

Screenings occur on campus throughout the year and provide opportunities for students to receive personalized feedback on their alcohol use, 相关的风险, 社会规范知觉, and options for reducing problems and consequences. Referrals for further evaluation are provided for students engaging in high-risk drinking.

Screenings are also conducted to living group or classrooms in a group format. 要求放映»

Every two years the 咨询 and 精神健康中心 administers the National College 健康 Assessment, one of the most valid and reliable measures of student drinking patterns and other health related items. Data from this assessment helps guide the work done to reduce harmful outcomes related to student alcohol and other drug use.

The following program is mandated to students who violate the 学生行为准则.

基础知识 is delivered in an individual format and is designed to help students explore drinking or drug behaviors and identify consequences, related attitudes 和 motivation to change behaviors and develop controlled-use strategies or make progress toward abstinence of substance use.

Presentations are available upon request to help students reflect on attitudes or behaviors related to alcohol use, learn how it might affect health and personal goals, and develop strategies to reduce harm related to substance use.

申请工作坊 提前七天, and arrangements will be made to bring teaching materials and resources to your classroom or organization. Workshops normally last 30-90 minutes.

A peer-facilitated outreach workshop that interactively covers estimating blood-alcohol concentration, tracking standard drinks and pouring demonstrations. Students will identify the good and not-so-good aspects of college drinking, and identify strategies to reduce risk and bystander tips to respond to an alcohol emergency. (50分钟)

Participants learn the warning signs of alcohol-related emergencies and tips and strategies on how to intervene when a friend needs help. We will also discuss overcoming potential barriers to intervening 和 amnesty policy. (90分钟)
